Employment at Northwestern EMS Now hiring part time EMT's and paramedics... This is the most unique EMS working environment in the region!
For 35 years Northwestern has done it right when it comes to our people. We've treated our volunteers and career staff as the professionals they are, and always with courtesy, caring, and most of all fairness. We bend over backwards for each other and we work as a team to get the job done. Our motto is "because we care" - we care about our staff, our patients, our neighbors and our community. Here's a little bit about us: Our facility is clean and comfortable. Nice crew quarters for napping exercise equipment, video games, movies, a kitchen and a county store at the end of the driveway. It's very relaxing up here when you not in whacker mode. The friendly attitude of the town's people, the clean and green layout of the land, along with a small town feeling make a day working at Northwestern more like a visit to the county. We have three like-new ambulances (one 2003 and two 2006 PL Custom models) that can be ALS or BLS as needed. They're packed with brand new state-of-the-art equipment like the awesome Philips HeartStart MRX monitor/defibrillator with NIBP, etCO2, spO2, trending and huge color screens. CPAP, AutoVents and ViewMax fiber-optic ETT blades. Lighted stylets, the Broselow/Hinkle Pediatric System and even more cool stuff. Northwestern is financially stable with money in the bank. We have very little debt, we own the building and most everything you can touch, so our expenses are relatively low compared to some other organizations. We think that's the right way to run a business. And even though we have maintained our low-stress friendly environment, we know we are running a business and we're passionate about making it work. We like to bill on time, pay on time and spend money wisely. We're not afraid to try new things, but we're careful about every penny spent. You can feel good about this because... well, just because you have a lot of other things to worry about - this should not be one of them. Now the bad news, or maybe the good news - you decide. If you're a hot new medic or EMT and want lots of 911 emergency action, you'll hate it up here! We do about 700 calls a year and you will not get your share of exciting action-packed adventure. Your skills will not improve because you will not have the quantity of calls you need to gain that experience; so, sorry - this is not the place for you. There are however other great squads in the area that will offer you what you need. On the other hand if you're already seasoned, experienced, and maybe even a bit overworked elsewhere, do we have a deal for you... a relaxing 1.9 (that's one point nine) calls a day, average. So what can you possibly do with the rest of the time? Well rest for one thing. Read, study, relax, yes smell our dairy air. As long as you're ready to jump into action and have completed a short list of common housekeeping duties, your time is your time - and we'll pay you for it with a very competitive wage and benefit package. (Well qualified EMT's start can start at $10.50/hr - Paramedics start at $17.00/hr. So here are the questions you need to ask yourself. Are you looking for a great place to work? Do you have the best...no, not just great, but the absolute best patient care and co-worker interaction skills on the planet? Are your skills, protocol knowledge and treatment techniques second-to-none? Do you work very well with others? Sure, it's easy to say "yes" to all of those questions but how about this one...Do your peers in the industry agree with your self assessment?
